Oh how cute! I would love to have one but the husband won't let me...![]()
Good luck, I already have 2 dogs and that all I can handle right now. A couple of years ago I made a similar post looking for someone to take a female border collie pup I had found abandoned by the Clinch River. I ended up keeping her and she is far and away the best dog I've ever had. Although you don't really ever own a border collie since they are smarter than people. She now has me pretty well trained and we get along great![]()

The Wise Co. Shelter isn't quick to euthanize animals, as some people believe. I've worked with those folks for a few years now and they do try their best to place animals in good homes.
Puppies are often in higher demand than adult dogs - they dont like to euthanize healthy highly adoptable animals if at all possible.
If you aren't able to place them soon I'd recommend you contact the shelter for assistance 679-6750 and they're on Facebook under "Norton Shelter."
You'll shoot your eye out.

A good friend had a really bad experience with the Wise County Animal Shelter I'm afraid. The "neighborhood" dog was picked up and she went up there to get it after only a few days (I mean like 3 or 4 tops) They told her she would have to wait a few minutes before they could look for him. During that "few minutes" the dog was euthanized! with her waiting to get it. She was so upset by the whole that she she still hasn't gotten over it.
She had been told on the phone that there was no danger of the dog being euthanized that daythe whole thing was disgusting. I swear I think she even saw it's corpse as she was leaving. I would have to talk to her to get all the details again. But it was absolutely awful and she still gets depressed over it several years later.
